• Design, develop, and maintain databases for a technology startup
• Document and script your database designs
• Work with development, operations, QA, and product management for requirements

Requirements:

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years experience with a relational database such as Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience as a Database Administrator
• Familiarity with programmatic access to the database (e.g. JDBC)
• Experience scaling the capacity of a database using techniques like caching or sharding
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to learn and adapt in a rapidly changing environment

Desired:

• Knowledge of non-relational databases
• Experience building large-scale high-performance databases
• Very comfortable in a Unix environment
