Jo Zhu is a partner on the a16z crypto investment team.
She operates at the intersection of consumer x web3.
Prior to joining Andreessen Horowitz, Jo led Product at Uber, DoorDash, and Cameo — the first generation of peer-to-peer platforms that bridged the digital and the physical parts of our everyday lives.
This includes launching the new verticals product team at DoorDash, where she expanded the delivery app into “non-food” categories (grocery, convenience, and retail), growth and recipient experience at Cameo, and driver pricing and incentives at Uber.
Jo has an MBA and M.Ed from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and is also a YCombinator alumni.
She believes that anyone should be able to exchange information, value, or content with one another as seamlessly, instantaneously, privately, and permissionlessly as possible. She is excited for the ethos of web3 because of its vision of what the internet should be.
As a first-generation immigrant check writer, Jo strives to open doors and dismantle structural inequities to make room at the table for diverse and underrepresented founders.
Jo writes and responds actively on Twitter @joandthezhus.
