Mariano is a partner on the a16z crypto investment team. Prior to joining a16z, Mariano was an engineering manager and developer at Chia Network, working on Proofs of Space, consensus, cryptography, pooling protocols, and the full node. He has been deeply interested in web3 for many years, and strongly believes in crypto’s potential to democratize and unite the global financial ecosystem. Mariano graduated from Stanford University with a B.S in Computer Science.
