Anne Lee Skates is a partner on the consumer investing team, where her interests include gen-Z consumer trends, retail and commerce infrastructure, and the future of cities, such as real estate and construction.

Prior to joining Andreessen Horowitz, she was a seed stage investor at Floodgate, where she sourced and led several consumer investments. Before that she worked as an early hire in product and engineering roles at two startups, Solv Health and FundersClub. She started her career in consulting at McKinsey in San Francisco.

Anne graduated from Princeton University, magna cum laude, where she started a failed company and experienced a taste of the challenges of entrepreneurship first-hand. Originally from Taiwan, she came to the US to become a professional violinist and performed a solo at the 49th Grammy Awards.
