James Rathmell

James Rathmell works on policy and regulatory strategy for a16z crypto and its portfolio. Prior to a16z, he practiced law at Cooley LLP in San Francisco. He has spent his career focused on issues at the intersection of emerging technology and the law, including at 23andMe and Coinbase.

James holds a J.D. and an M.B.A. from Stanford University and a B.A. in Economics-Philosophy from Columbia University.
