Lester Chen is a gaming industry veteran specializing in video, creators, and content platforms. As a partner at Andreessen Horowitz, Lester is the Creator Lead for A16Z GAMES.
His career in Games stems back to the early-2000’s when he competed as a professional Halo 2 & 3 Player. Lester worked at the early YouTube startup, Machinima, producing/developing/selling live and esports content before joining YouTube/Google in 2015.
Lester helped launch the YouTube Gaming vertical and worked on landmark deals in Esports (Riot Games, Overwatch League, Call of Duty League, FaceIT, ESL), Publishers (Epic Games, Tencent, Garena), and Creators (Ludwig, Valkyrae, CouRage, TimTheTatMan). Lester was named Forbes 30 under 30 class of 2018 and The Hollywood Reporter Next Generation Executives Under 35 in 2022.
