Andreessen Horowitz’s (a16z) inaugural Builders Retreat will bring together leaders and innovators who are helping shape our future. This invitation-only event will bring an intimate group of B2B founders together ranging in stages from ideation to early product market fit.

The event will feature fireside chats with a16z and Beyang Liu (CTO, Sourcegraph) and Matt Schulman (CEO, Pave), facilitated breakout sessions, and activities, as well as ample opportunities to connect and share learnings with your fellow early-stage founders.

Event Overview

  • Why this event?

    We are bringing together early stage founders in a relaxed environment to network and build community. The invite list is closely curated, and we are creating a safe space to connect and share ideas. The conversations will be friendly. No media will be in attendance.

  • Who are the attendees?

    This is an exclusive, invitation-only gathering for early stage founders. We expect roughly 45 attendees.

  • Can I see who else is attending?

    Prior to the event, all confirmed registrants will receive the full attendee list with names, companies, and titles

Air Travel, Lodging & Transportation

  • Does a16z cover any travel to/from the event?

    a16z will provide coach class, roundtrip airfare to Salt Lake City. Once you’ve completed your registration form, a16z will be in touch to coordinate flight details.

    a16z will provide ground transportation to and from The Lodge at Blue Sky and Salt Lake International Airport (SLC) from Monday, May 1 through Wednesday, May 3 based on shared flight information. The SLC airport is approximately a 50-minute ride to the hotel. Please make sure to share your flight details if you’d like to be included in our group transportation.

  • Where should I stay?

    Your registration confirmation guarantees your lodging at The Lodge at Blue Sky for the a16z Builders Retreat. a16z will cover the nightly room rate and tax for May 1 and May 2. Guests will be responsible for any incidental costs incurred during their stay.

  • When should I plan to arrive and depart?

    Please refer to the Agenda section on the website to see the latest program. Please allow for enough time to arrive before the program starts at 6 p.m. MT on Monday, May 1 (check-in and registration opens at 4 p.m. MT). You can depart on Wednesday morning as check out is at noon MT.
