Derek Mead is a partner at Andreessen Horowitz focused on editorial content for the Growth team.
Prior to joining a16z, Derek was founder and head of production for Earthbound Pictures, a production company focused on science and tech storytelling. He previously had runs as editor-in-chief of Vice and Motherboard, working with newsrooms across the Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Asia.
An avid cyclist and fearless home chef, Derek graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in ecology.
