Grace Ellis

Grace Ellis

Grace Ellis is an operating partner at Andreessen Horowitz where she leads marketing for the Corporate and Growth teams.

Grace joined the firm in 2011 to build the a16z brand and raise the profiles of its general partners. She launched both of Ben Horowitz’s books, The Hard Thing About Hard Things and What You Do Is Who You Are, and continues to oversee communications for Ben. She also led marketing for the Enterprise team and portfolio for several years, advising on brand marketing, communications, issues and crisis management, and content strategy.

Prior to a16z, Grace was a marketing and communications leader at blinkx, the video search engine. She started her career in high tech communications at The OutCast Agency, where she worked closely with emerging startups and publicly traded companies.

Grace graduated with a BSBA in management, international business, and cultural anthropology from Georgetown University. When she’s not working or chasing down her two wild boys, she tries very hard to find time to consume (un)official translations of Chinese web novels and related audio dramas.
