Julie Klapstein is an advisory partner on the Bio + Health team.
Julie was the founding CEO of Availity, the industry leader in optimizing the automated delivery of critical business and clinical information among healthcare stakeholders. Julie was the CEO and board member of Availity for 11 years.
Julie has more than 35 years of experience in the healthcare information technology industry, including executive roles at Phycom, Inc, Sunquest Information Systems, SMS, GTE Health Systems, and AT&T Information Systems.
Julie currently serves on the board of directors of Revecore, focusing on complex claims and underpayments in hospital revenue cycle management; Amedisys, (AMED), focusing on home health, hospice, and high acuity care in the home; and MultiPlan (MPLN), focusing on business analytics and health cost management solutions for the health insurance industry.
Julie is the recipient of multiple awards for top business leaders. In 2021 Julie was awarded the Healthcare Innovators Award, a lifetime achievement award, at the annual Healthcare Leaders Conference. She resides in Port Angeles, WA and has homes in Cambria, CA and Tucson, AZ. She enjoys hiking, horseback riding, skiing and biking.
