Michelle is a marketing and communications partner at Andreessen Horowitz, where she leads marketing for the AI Infrastructure practice and advises portfolio companies on communications from early stage through scale.

Prior to joining a16z, Michelle led communications at Couchbase, where she drove IPO positioning and key product launches, including its DBaaS offering and AI, developer, and real-time analytics capabilities. Previously, she led communications at Docker during its transition to an enterprise-focused company, and at Hortonworks through its IPO and merger with Cloudera.

She began her career at Hill & Knowlton, working with companies including VMware, Qualcomm, Yahoo!, and HP, where she developed a lasting focus on infrastructure and B2B communications.

Michelle was born and raised in the Bay Area and graduated from Santa Clara University with a BA in Communication Studies. Outside of work, she’s a dedicated Bay Area sports fan and an avid observer of pop culture.
