More About Steve

Steven Harvey is a cybersecurity engineer at Andreessen Horowitz.

Prior to joining a16z, Steven worked for the United States Intelligence Community, working jointly with the FBI and other intelligence agencies to help protect the United States from cyber adversaries. During his time with the United States Intelligence Community, Steven worked with Advanced Network Operations (ANO). He has been recognized for his research contributing to Network Device Integrity methodologies. In the private sector, Steven served as the chief information security officer (CISO) for a security firm in Washington, D.C. and a cybersecurity consultant for financial, tech, and energy companies where he conducted strategic vulnerability assessments and directed the implementation of cybersecurity best practices. He also has extensive experience in mitigating network vulnerabilities by providing prioritized recommendations to harden and defend client assets.

Steven graduated cum laude with a BS in cyber intelligence and security. Steven is an active member of (ISC)2, the Arizona Cyber Threat Response Alliance (ACTRA), and FBI InfraGard. He holds the Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) Certification from (ISC)2, Security + from CompTIA, as well as a variety of other certifications from the United States Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency.
