Marian Garvin is a controller on the Finance team.
Prior to joining a16z, Marian worked as a controller for several venture teams, including Crosspoint, KPCB, Mayfield, and Legacy Venture. Before working in venture, she worked as an assistant vice president at Chicago Title and was the controller for Flying Lizard Motorsports, an American Le Mans Series race car team.
Marian graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Miami University. Until recently she served on two nonprofit boards: Afghan Friends Network and Mwangaza Tanzania. She currently resides in San Mateo with her husband and two teenage daughters.
