More About Maureen
Maureen Lara is a controller on the Finance team.
Prior to joining a16z, Maureen was at Sequoia Capital, where she managed the accounting and reporting for multiple domestic and international funds aggregating up to $3B. She started her career in public accounting at Ernst & Young LLP, then held various technical revenue accounting and deal desk positions at Autonomy Interwoven (acquired by HP), McAfee, and NetApp before making the leap into venture capital.
Maureen graduated summa cum laude with a degree in accounting from Santa Clara University and is a licensed CPA (license currently inactive). She has a passion for world travel and has traveled solo to 17 countries thus far and counting.
