About
Chris Santa Maria is a controller on the Finance team.
Prior to joining a16z, she worked at Apex Fund Administration and Allvue Systems, a SAAS startup for end users in the alternative asset space. Before that, she was a fund administrator and held CFO and CCO roles for private equity and venture capital clients. She was also the CFO for Alpine Investors for 12 years and spent 10 years with corporate clients.
Chris graduated with a BS in business administration with a concentration in accounting from San Francisco State University. After raising 3 kids, she is now a retired taxi driver, soccer coach, swim team official, water polo shot clock manager, and volunteer for numerous activities and committees. She looks forward to traveling more and volunteering with the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
