About
Alex Danco joined Andreessen Horowitz in 2025 as Editor-at-Large. Prior to joining, Alex was a Director of Product at Shopify, and served as “Silicon Valley’s preeminent sociologist” (as a prominent reader put it) on his newsletter, alexdanco.com.
Earlier on the timeline, Alex has been a founder, VC associate, and touring musician. He received a BSc in Physiology and MSc in Neuroscience from McGill University, but wasn’t cut out for academia. He lives in Toronto with his wife and three children.
