More About Anna
Anna Berces is the head of corporate law on the Legal and Compliance team.
Prior to joining a16z, Anna served as the deputy general counsel of Hippo Insurance and senior counsel to Postmates Inc., where she worked on a number of large corporate transactions, including Hippo’s 2021 SPAC transaction and Postmates’ 2020 merger with Uber Technologies. Before that, Anna was an associate at the San Francisco office of Latham & Watkins LLP where her practice was focused on securities litigation.
Anna graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Communications from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and served as the class of 2009’s commencement speaker. Anna earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. In her spare time, she enjoys hikes with her two labradoodles, Bailey and Scout.
