About
Zachary Chen is a partner on Andreessen Horowitz's American Dynamism team, where he works with founders building technology for defense, aerospace, and national security.
Before joining a16z, Zachary spent seven years at JPMorgan Chase in the Corporate & Investment Bank, where he served as a Vice President in Treasury Sales advising multinational corporations, financial institutions, and high-growth fintechs. He specialized in helping fintech companies and neobanks navigate U.S. market entry, regulatory frameworks, and go-to-market strategy.
Prior to his finance career, Zachary served in the United States Navy, with deployments to the Western Pacific aboard a guided missile destroyer in support of Maritime Security Operations and the Global War on Terrorism. He subsequently served in Explosive Ordnance Disposal, supporting maritime mine countermeasure operations across the Western Pacific.
Zachary holds a BA in Political Science with an International Relations concentration from Columbia University, where he graduated Cum Laude.
