About
Sophie Stocks is an associate general counsel on the Legal and Compliance team focused on corporate law.
Prior to joining a16z, Sophie served as corporate counsel at Hippo Insurance. Before that, Sophie was an associate at the San Francisco office of Latham & Watkins LLP where her practice focused on commercial litigation, merger reviews, and antitrust investigations.
Sophie graduated cum laude with a BA in political science and a minor in Italian studies from Gettysburg College. She earned a JD from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, graduating magna cum laude. In her spare time, Sophie enjoys exploring the Bay Area, cooking, and riding her horse, Rosco.
